Libraries SA Facebook

Content

The Libraries SA Facebook page (page ID Libraries SA) is managed by the Public Library Services (PLS) Strategic Projects and Communication team, on behalf of colleagues across the South Australian public library network and PLS. We may occasionally use some automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) but intend that this will not dominate the messages posted. We aim to connect with the community online. Our posts will include:

  • upcoming events happening in SA public libraries
  • alerts about new content on our other channels (news, publications, publicity campaigns etc.)
  • links to interesting and useful information about SA public libraries published on our website and the Internet, and
  • invitations to provide feedback on specific topics.

Availability

We will update and monitor our Facebook accounts during 9am-5pm ACST, Monday to Friday. Facebook may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to this downtime. PLS reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate its Facebook accounts at any time.

@Replies and Direct Messages

We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Facebook.

PLS will monitor all @replies and Direct Messages and ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people in PLS or the public libraries network.

We cannot engage on issues of a political or sensitive nature.

The usual ways of contacting us for official correspondence are detailed in the Contact Us section of our website.

Acceptable use policy

PLS welcome comments on its Facebook page and suggest that you apply common sense when making them. If you wouldn't say or show it at work or school, then we recommend you don't post it on this Page. Comments, links, photos and videos deemed inappropriate will be deleted.

We are committed to maintaining your privacy and ask that you respect the privacy of others when creating posts. Inflammatory, defamatory, commercial, spam, overtly party political, politically sensitive and comments encouraging activities illegal in Australia or that are detected as transgressing copyright or intellectual property laws will be deleted.

PLS strives to review the content of these accounts on a regular basis. However, there may be times when offensive comments (that do not meet the Acceptable use policy) appear on these pages before they can be removed. You can also visit Facebook's terms here.
